ABOUT

Yes, I’m a writer, but here’s a little more about me, who I am, and what I do.

  • I grew up on the Mid North Coast of Australia. After school I moved away, spent ten years exploring, but then moved back realising I had paradise at my fingertips.

  • I studied Television Production at university and graduated with First Class Honours in Screenwriting.

  • I went on to work in TV including roles as a script assistant on All Saints, a storyliner on Headland, and a script writer on Home & Away.

  • Spending my days around the plotting table and learning from some of the best about story and writing was invaluable. I fell head over heels in love wit plotting episodes, talking characters and developing story arcs.

  • I’m married and have three kids, so that keeps me pretty busy. In my spare time*, I write. *Let’s face it, there’s not much spare time when you have kids, so sometimes housework gets severely neglected.

  • I love to read! I usually have a paperback and an audiobook on the go. I like stories about relationships, whether it’s friendships or romance, these kinds of book always catch my attention. I want to think about characters when I’m not reading the book and be so invested that I laugh and cry with them.

  • I’m part of a book club and am often pushed to read out of my comfort zone. As a sidenote, I love book club and highly recommend starting one if you’ve been thinking about it. Two hours of uninterrupted book talk. #happyplace

  • I’m also a huge TV fan. I love to support Australian Drama but get hooked on lots of shows.

  • We’re lucky to live only a block away from the beach. A walk along the beach is the best place to figure out any plot problems.

  • I try to exercise at least 5 days a week… more if I can get the time. I like to walk, run, bike ride, play netball, do bootcamp or metapower. It’s certainly hard to fit in, but I’m a much nicer wife and mummy when I exercise.

  • I like to cook, more specifically bake, which really interferes with the benefits of exercise. I enjoy chocolate and cake and biscuits… and cheese and champagne!
